Halloween has always been one of my favourite days in the year, especially when I was in my middle teens going through my 'gothic' years. The sound of grungy music, black heavy eyeliner and watching scary movies filled me with delight. Wearing my black lipstick, skin tight leathers and hair in synthetic dreadlocks, it was the one day of the year that I didn't feel out of place. I have grown up a fair amount since then and my style is now much more conformist. I like pretty little dresses, pink lipstick and I'm partial to a spot of shopping in Zara (okay, more like a weekly spree in Zara). Life has changed - I'm a married woman with a professional job and over the years I've grown rather fond of the fashion industry, but every now and then I still like to bring out my darker gothic side and when the autumn/winter trends come about, it's a great excuse to dress a little bit vampish and bring out my inner dark side.
I have fallen head over heels for this French Connection Maddison Gardens Embellished dress and the black lace and sheer panelling helps evoke the gothic style I'm going for this month. I have always found French Connection dresses a delight to wear and since they are a little bit on expensive side for me, I always find myself investing in one during autumn as a treat.
This Vivienne Westwood clutch featured in my wish list has been on my mind since I saw it on display when I was last in Selfridges. I love the oxblood colour and the pretty orb design that draws attention on the front. The envelope style is quirky, yet versatile and would fit well with any outfit choice this season.
The final item on my halloween payday wish list are these gorgeous Kandee shoes I saw on the Kandee Facebook page a few days ago. Kandee have just launched their new season of shoes and these are perfect for those looking to make a statement, have some fun and look quirky this autumn.
