As I'm writing this post I'm currently sat in bed drinking a cup of tea, planning my next lot of blog posts in my head and wondering when I'll be able to get back on track with my life. I'm a useless patient, always wanting to recovery quicker than I should and I can get irritated by being housebound more than several hours. Even on a weekend I have to leave the house to do some shopping or go for a walk long, I hate the feeling of missing out and being unproductive.
For those who haven't been following my Twitter or Instagram feeds, I finally had my gallbladder removed on Thursday after months of agonising pain. The operation was fairly quick and done via keyhole surgery and I seem to making a good recovery so far. Due to my long work commute and a few previous stomach issues the doctors have advised that I have two weeks recovery. Two weeks seems like forever when I'm used to being such a busy, hands on person, but I know in the long run it will all be worth it. Last time I had an operation and went back to work too soon, I ended up back in hospital with a serious infection - I think I have learnt my lesson. For now I'm going to enjoy my rest period and to put it to good use planning out blog posts, getting into some new TV Shows on Netflix and making a start on the new Grey book, wish me luck.
What have you been up to lately?
I hope your recovery goes well - I'm on the waiting list for gallbladder surgery at the moment, it must be so wonderful to know you'll never have to experience that pain again! I'm also quite apprehensive about being housebound after surgery, I'm the same as you. Have a good rest, and I hope you're out and about again soon!
