As much as I do love cooking, there's some days that cooking seems like such a chore. After working 9-5 and commuting for an hour and a half, the last thing I want to do is get out a cookbook and spend a good hour preparing a meal from scratch. Last year I was diagnosed with a stomach condition that causes my bile ducts to go into spasm if I eat too much fat, simillar to how a gallbladder responds when people are diagnosed with gallstones. Due to this I now have to lead a very healthy lifestyle and monitor everything I eat. I'm allowed treats, but if I have something that is too high in fat, I can be ill for days and there has been cases where I've ended up in hospital with severe pain. Cooking healthy isn't always that easy as many foods that are addressed as 'healthy' in the stores are actually full of salt or quite high in calories, therefore I try to cook from scratch where possible, but cooking from scratch is time consuming.
Tilda have recently brought out a new range of 'Tilda Pulses' and I was asked if I would like try some of them. The Tilda Pulses & Rice packets can be heated up in the microwave in less than five minutes and come in a variety of innovative flavours and many of them are gluten free and low in fat and all of them are suitable for vegetarians.
I've spent the last few weeks experimenting with these dishes and I've been very impressed with my meals. The flavours are so unique and different to other rice packets on the market and they are so easy to make.So far I've had the 'Chickpea, Harrisa & Lemon' with Halloumi Skewers and the 'Edamame, Spring Onion and Wasabi' with grilled Quorn - both of which took me less than 10 minutes to make and tasted fantastic. If you're looking for new flavours for dishes and don't want to spend hours cooking, I would definitely recommend these products.
Have you tried the new Tilda Pulses & Rice?

Oohhh yummy! I love quick rice - it's something that is such a store cupboard must have, after all, you can't guarantee you won't need something in a rush! H x
ReplyDeleteThis is really convenient without sacrificing the healthy factor. Never trieed tilda but I have to check it as they have quite a lot of flavour choices.
ReplyDeleteI love Tilda but I haven't tried this range yet. I usually stick to Uncle Ben's but I'll branch out and give these packs a go ;)
ReplyDeleteI love things like this, will have to try these rices!
ReplyDeleteMmm love what you've done with these sachets! I've only tried one of their flavours so far and I loved it.
ReplyDeleteI rather fancy the sound of the Black Bean & coconut. These are a great alternative for when plain rice is getting a bit dull.
ReplyDeleteI like the sound of these, especially the split pea due to the inclusion of coriander x
ReplyDeleteHow convenient are these! They would be perfect after a long day at work and you are not in the mood for cooking!
ReplyDeleteNow pulses and rice is a great idea - plus I reckon I could get the kids to eat them too. Sorry to hear about your tummy troubles.
