As a girl that always likes to experiment with fragrances, I find that perfume samples are a great way of keeping my perfume fix cost effective. They enable me to discover and trial new brands without splurging out on a perfume that might not suit my personality and they are also great to carry around when you travel a lot. I'm one of those people that won't go out of the house without perfume and carrying around a lot of bottles takes up far too much space in my handbag.
Every perfume I own reminds me of pivotal times in my life and paints a perfume history of the important phases in my life. Jimmy Choo Eau de Parfum was the perfume I wore when I first met my husband, Roberto Cavalli original was the perfume I wore when I got engaged and Coco Mademoiselle was the perfume I wore on my wedding day. Calvin Klein Euphoria was my first ever 'luxury perfume' and Giorgio Beverly Hills reminds me of a family member that passed away, as well as my mother who now wears her perfume as it also brings back fond members. Every time I catch the scent of one of those fragrances in the air, it reminds me of special times - that's how emotive fragrance can be, it can be incredibly powerful. My passion for perfume has left me often intrigued by not only new launches, but also discovering the classics and I'm always looking for new ways to able my search and add new fragrances to my scent journey.
The Perfume Society is one of the newest ways to discover, explore and enjoy new perfumes. Each box includes a variety of perfumes (usually eight) all curated into a themed box costing around £17. Unlike most perfume discovery boxes, you have full insight into which perfumes you will be receiving and you can chose the box most suited to your tastes and buy one as and when required. As well as perfumes, many of the boxes come with beauty products which complement the fragrances you are given and in addition to all the wonderful perfumes and beauty products you receive in the box, you are also given a set of educational perfume cards that tells you can about the fragrance notes.
One of the latest Perfume Society boxes is the Precious Perfumes Discovery Box. The box includes nine fragrances (including two luxury samples and three brand new launches), plus two beauty bonuses from Nails Inc and Molton Brown. The fragrances in this box are inspired by monarchs, jewels and rare ingredients and it is the ultimate perfume box to treat yourself or show a special someone how precious they are to you. I was really impressed with this box and loved the bonus Molton Brown Rosa bath and shower gel and Nails Inc Electric Avenue. I also really liked that all the perfumes had distinct scents, making them perfect for many different occasions. Out of this box, my favourite scents are the Bvlgari Rose Goldea which is a usual floral scent that I go for and the Nejma 7 which is more musky and completely different to my usual perfumes. The Nejma perfume is almost £200 to buy from Harvey Nichols, so it was great to have been given the chance to sample it and wear it more than once unlike spraying it in store. It is very easy to get addicted to sampling all these perfumes and reading all about them makes me feel a little bit like a perfume connoisseur. I'm already planning my next box.
To give you the chance to try one of these boxes for yourself, I'm giving away a VIP subscription worth £25. The VIP subscription box comes with an introductory subscription box, a monthly e-magazine 'The Scented Letter' - the only monthly publication devoted to fragrances, discounted tickets to workshops nationwide and 'Access all Areas' pass to read special content and be the first to know about the limited edition Perfume Society Discovery Boxes. To enter, simply fill out the form below. You must be 18 and over and live in the UK.
